Founder, Carl Miller, started in the road construction industry as a young man. Working as a laborer, he became an Operator, eventually working his way up to Superintendent. He traveled up and down the east coast following the work. In 1972, at the age of 40 years old, he took a risk and started his own company – Concrete General, Inc.

Concrete General started as a concrete flatwork contractor. That work evolved into working with developers, digging basements, and putting in sidewalks and streets. As the 70’s went on, Carl’s sons joined the company and the business started to grow. Concrete flatwork turned into building bridges, retaining walls, and other concrete structures.

As the years have passed, Concrete General has grown into an Innovative heavy highway civil construction company with over 350 skilled and experienced personnel. Concrete General has experience in delivering Design-Builds, Bid-Builds, CMAR, and Negotiated Projects in both the public and private sector. Visit our Projects page to see the scope of our projects.

Carl Miller is no longer involved with Concrete General, but his humble beginning and hard work ethic has been passed on to his sons and grandsons to keep Concrete General growing into the future.
